The next phase for continued UCCBP development begins this fall
with the announcement of a research grant from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.
This $95,000 grant awarded over three years will provide the funding
for additional survey research to understand the social capital inherent in the University City area in a more
comprehensive way.
Once completed, the result of this research will be shared with
local organizations to help encourage increased interaction among civic groups.
It is no secret that First Charter is dedicated to improving the
sense of community in University City. Kevin Toomb, Executive Vice President and Marketing Director at First Charter,
has been a dedicated volunteer since the inception of the University City Community Building Project and has assumed
