UCCBP Leadership Summit
UCCBP will hosted its annual Leadership Summit
on October 13th at the UNCC Barnhardt Center. The summit brought together community stakeholders
to discuss the future of the University City Area and the obstacles facing the area. The summit also featured breakout
sessions with experts in the areas of Civic Engagement, Economic Development and Environmental issues.
Research Survey on Social Capital, Diversity
and Trust
UCCBP has conducted research concerning social
capital, diversity and trust in the University City area. This data will be used as a measure of the success of
initiatives in the area and give us guidance on what areas need to be addressed.
Mallard Creek High School Survey
UCCBP has worked with Mallard Creek High School
to survey the student body about diversity and trust. We hope to glean valuable information from the survey’s about
the attitudes of young people in the area as compared to the broader social capital research. We will also resurvey
students yearly to see trends in the area within the youth. Once surveys have been completed we will implement
trust and diversity sessions with the students in order to change opinions which will be measured through recurring
surveys. |
